SCHOOL HOURS AND SUPERVISION School begins at 8:00 AM. Students may go into their classroom at 7:50 AM. Students are not to be on school grounds prior to 7:30 AM, unless they are participating in the morning YMCA program. School Dismissal Schedule:
ALL DISMISSAL TIMES ARE ONE HOUR EARLIER ON WEDNESDAYS DISMISSAL PROCEDURES CAR RIDERS: The car rider pick-up area is in the FRONT OF THE SCHOOL, on Milan Drive. Please stay in your car and in a single file line. Your child will be brought to your car as you pull up to the front of the school. By staying in your car, the traffic flow moves faster and the parking lot does not become a pedestrian area, therefore eliminating possible accidents. If you need to park, do so in a designated parking area. BUS RIDERS: A student is not allowed to ride a bus unless he/she is an assigned bus student. Questions about bus transportation and rules can be directed to Transportation Services at 407-317-3800. BICYCLES: All bicycles will be walked while on school grounds. All bike riders must wear a helmet. All bicycles must be locked to the bike rack during the day. ANY CHANGES TO THE WAY A CHILD IS TO GO HOME MUST BE MADE IN WRITING FROM THE PARENT. EMERGENCY FORMS/CHANGE OF ADDRESS Please make sure the school always has your most current information regarding: home/beeper/cell numbers, address, work location and persons to contact in an emergency. The school must be able to reach someone at all times. WEATHER CONDITIONS Let your child know in advance what they are to do for dismissal in case of rain. At times, we will dismiss a little early to beat an impending storm. Your child will never be released more than 15 minutes early. We may "hold" students at dismissal times due to the weather. In the event of severe weather, please feel comfortable knowing that Lake Weston exercises precaution through emergency practice drills. |
