Neighborhood Center for Families

MISSION STATEMENT

The Mission of the Lake Weston NCF is to create in partnership with neighborhood residents, a community environment that promotes healthy life styles, resiliency and self-sufficiency for children, youth and families. The Neighborhood Center is a school based collaborative of non-profit service providers, local school and government agencies brought together to service children and families in the communities surrounding Lake Weston Elementary School.

Lake Weston Neighborhood Center for Families provides services such as:

  • Health Services, Health Education Screening and Immunizations, Dental and Vision Referrals for Lake Weston Students
  • Tutoring and Childcare Assistance
  • After School, academic and recreational programs
  • Summer and Enrichment Programs
  • Employment Referrals
  • Financial Assistance Referrals
  • Domestic Abuse Prevention
  • Food and Clothing Referrals

 

Collaborative Partners

The Center for Drug Free Living

Aphla Program

The Alpha Program at Lake Weston provides life skills education to each grade level, academic assistance in the classroom, and individual and group counseling to each student.

Prevention Program

The Prevention Program provides community based prevention and intervention services to individuals and families within our community to achieve and maintain healthy life styles. With after school Enrichment Programs for residents in the Omega Apartments and Lake Weston Pointe Apartments.

Orange County Government

Orange County Youth & Family Services provide the Home Visitor Program. The Home Visitor Program in a home based prevention program to promote healthy families in Orange County.

Orange County Public Schools

OCPS provide an Alpha Teacher and Social Works. The Alpha Teacher provides counseling in life skills, academic enrichment and tutoring for students on campus. The Social Workers provides school counseling, referrals assistance to students and families of Lake Weston Students and the community.

 

The programs represented here are provided as a public service at no cost.
